STEAM

Kia ora bloggers and welcome back to my blog. This week for science we had to make a sturdy and strong table out of 10 pieces of paper and a piece of 1 m long tape. For this work, I like doing it and it was fun. Do you like doing science?

The beeping bee bot

Kia ora bloggers and welcome back to my blog,

For numeracy last week we have been looking at compass directions. We have worked on reading maps using the 8 main directions - North, South, East, west, North-East, South-East, North-West, and South-West and then we moved onto using Beebots and our knowledge of compass directions to get a Beebot through the grid to various locations. We had to program the Beebot with our own algorithm, using forwards, backward, turn right, turn left and N, S, E, W.  It was important that we regularly tested our algorithm to check we didn’t need to de-bug (find a problem and fix it). Here is an example of my algorithm: Forwards 2 squares, turn south, go forwards 2 squares, turn west, go forwards 2 squares. Have you ever had to use a compass for something?
