this week in reading we have been doing our Ako activity on the washing machine and in the story, the washing machine doesn't get taken care of so the washing machine decided to eat some of the socks so there was odd socks and this was revenge. 

Learny Turny Ako Activity week 7

This week I have made six slides and in each slide, I have done the learn part, I have also done the create part and in that create part I had to make up my own title for the story, I had to write two sentences about what I think will happen next and finally I had to upgrade baby Hoatzin to defend himself from the tree snakes.

Sliddy Sliding Doors

To the teachers 

Hi, I am Brooke.k and I strongly believe that we should have Sliding Doors in the classroom because it will help our learning we can have a big space and a small space and it will be more quite. Don’t you think that we should have sliding doors in the classroom?  

My first reason is that it will help our learning because it will block the other groups off so everybody can get their work done faster. I find that I get more work done when there are not lots of people walking in and out of other classrooms that they're not meant to be in and they also talk to people when they are not meant to be.  

My second reason is that we can have a big space and a small space because of the sliding doors. This would work because when we want a big space we can open up the sliding doors. When we want a little space we can then shut the doors. This means we can move around and be in other places but we still have the hub. So we still know that it is a hub for years 5 and 6.

My third reason is that it will be quieter because it will have soundproof sliding doors and again you can get your work done faster. It will be quieter which means that we can focus more on our work. I also find that I get more work done when it is quite.  

In conclusion that is why I think that we should have sliding doors because it will help your learning, it will be quieter and we have a big space and a small space. I hope I changed your mind so by now you should have your mind changed that we should have sliding doors in the classroom.  

     

This week for my writing I have been writing persuasive writing, to try and make you see what I am thinking and how it can help you as the reader of my writing.

I have written an introduction, 3 points on my topic and a conclusion.

The learny turny Ako activity

                                         

In class this week we had to learn, create and share our AKO activity and what did we have to learn? Well for the learn part we had to find out what a simile is, a metaphor is and so on. Then we had to choose what we had to create our presentation on. So we could teach other the definitions of the words in my slide. Finally, we had to create a quality blog post so you guys can see it.

this week in class for writing we have been choosing and planing our writing and we got to choose out of brain and brawn and we chose brawn and we chose it because scientists have found out that brawn is better.

in class we have been doing book club and we got to choose a book that we like and I chose a tom gates book and it is could Best book day ever and it is by Liz Pichon. finally when we had finished we put it on our blog.

The fantastic Rubric

For the last two weeks in literacy, I have been doing a rubric and what is a rubric a rubric is something that tells you what Quality you have so one would be you won't have any stuff that you are meant to have two would be you have most of it and three would be you have everything and it is really good.

This week for SOL (student organized learning) we have been learning about Matariki. First, we had to answer what is Matariki and we had to come up with an answer then we had to come up with are own questions and answer them and we had come up with two of our own questions. we could also present are Matariki slide in any way we wanted to and I chose to sing it.
