Kai ora bloggers and welcome back to my blog over the past two weeks we have had to write a speech present it and then write a reflection on our speech. I wrote and presented my speech about things that are going extinct. what did I do well? I think that I had a good hook and engaged with the audience and then went into explaining some points that would go into be spoken about. I am really proud of the way I did my conclusion. My conclusion: in conclusion in 2071 I still want to eat chocolate not so much bananas drink coffee energy drinks and Coca-Cola and see our native bird the Kiwi playing around and the forest. what could I improve on? next time I think that I could have looked up at the audience more and spoken more clearly.
Kia ora, I am a student at Marshland School, Welcome - Haere Mai. This is a place where I will be able to share my learning with you. Please note my work may include spelling or other errors because some of it will be my first drafts. I would like to get your feedback - comments, thoughts, questions and ideas to help me Learn Create Share.

My propaganda poster
Kai ora bloggers and welcome back to my blog. Yesterday for literacy we had to make a propaganda poster and we had to search up what did meat and then make our own poster. I made a poster that said you can do it in the background and with an old vintage sailor pointing. If you had to make a propaganda poster what would your message be?

Aladdin production
Kia ora bloggers and welcome back to my blog if you didn't know at school we have been working on a production called Aladdin and we have been working on it for two terms! This week for the last four days we have performed it in front of a preschool, our school, and lots of other people. While we have been making the production there has been lots of ups and downs but in the end, it was all worth it. Here are some photos of the production.

The beeping bee bot
Kia ora bloggers and welcome back to my blog,
For numeracy last week we have been looking at compass directions. We have worked on reading maps using the 8 main directions - North, South, East, west, North-East, South-East, North-West, and South-West and then we moved onto using Beebots and our knowledge of compass directions to get a Beebot through the grid to various locations. We had to program the Beebot with our own algorithm, using forwards, backward, turn right, turn left and N, S, E, W. It was important that we regularly tested our algorithm to check we didn’t need to de-bug (find a problem and fix it). Here is an example of my algorithm: Forwards 2 squares, turn south, go forwards 2 squares, turn west, go forwards 2 squares. Have you ever had to use a compass for something?

Awesome Angles
Kia ora bloggers, For numeracy today, we have started to learn about angles. We learned about 3 different angles today - acute (less than 90°), right angle (90°), and obtuse (larger than 90° but smaller than 180°). We also learned how to use a protractor to measure angles. We know that we need to measure an angle from a vertice (a corner where two straight lines meet). For our create task, we had to measure three different angles on the first letter of our name - can you figure out if they are acute, right angle, or obtuse?
